X PACKS - 1" 2" 3.5"
Overview
X PACKS are random spherical packing media engineered to maximize gas-to-liquid contact in mass-transfer columns. Three nominal sizes — 1″, 2″, and 3.5″ — Every size is stocked in two formulations: General Purpose (polypropylene) for industrial duty, and NSF Certified for potable water and food-grade contact applications. Also available in Glass Filled and PVDF upon request.
Why X PACKS Work
- Maximum gas-to-liquid contact. The open-lattice sphere exposes media surface in every direction, improving mass-transfer efficiency over conventional ring and saddle media.
- High void space, low pressure drop. Up to 96% void space helps deliver stable operation with minimal fan power — even in tall, high-velocity columns.
- Spherical geometry, uniform wetting. Every piece is symmetric — so it lands the same way every time, with predictable distribution and no orientation effects.
- Durable injection-molded construction. Manufactured in-house with 36+ years of tooling and production experience.
Packaging & Shipping
X PACKS ship from stock in standardized packaging configurations designed to simplify handling and reduce freight costs.
Our 1″ X PACKS are palletized in 50 ft³ quantities and packaged in 5 ft³ boxes. The 2″ and 3.5″ X PACKS are palletized in 120 ft³ quantities and packaged in 10 ft³ boxes for efficient storage and transportation.
For high-volume applications, our 2″ and 3.5″ media are also available in 60 ft³ super sacks.

Independently Tested
X PACKS have been independently characterized by a third-party engineering firm — geometric surface area, void fraction, pieces per ft³, and full pressure-drop curves measured across all three sizes. That data, along with our current cut sheet and chemical compatibility information, is available to qualified buyers on request.
